About Us
The traffic control industry in Illinois had it’s beginnings in the mid 1950’s, and Barricade Lites was right there at the forefront. In 1959, Henry and Marion Van Leuven founded the company from the basement of their home. Hard work and perseverance paid off, and in 1965 they were able to move the company into a dedicated facility on Swift Road in Lombard, Illinois.
Over the next 17 years, Barricade Lites grew into a reputable, high quality traffic control company. In 1980, Henry and Marion sold the business to their son-in-law, Ruben Vazquez, and in 1987 Ruben moved the company to its present location in Addison, Illinois. Fast forward to our current time and Ruben’s sons, Charles and Joseph are continuing in the business their grandfather started and are striving to lead the company in God-honoring ways.
